Breakfast, Brunch, Brinner.

This is my livelihood.

 Born from this love came Mimosa Sunday.

At some point in the first year of our marriage, El Capitano and I needed to find a way to actually relax on the weekend.

Drop the lesson planning, the cleaning, the weekend errands and simply spend time together. Mimosa Sunday is our excuse to lay around on the couch, have brunch in our P.J’s, and spend some quality time together.

You should try it sometime.

Here is what you need:

1. Breakfast/ Brunch of champions

2. Mimosas (but this is a given at this point)

3. Strapping young lad to cook for you

4. Then to do the dishes…

5. Bacon or some equally delicious alternative present on your plate

6. Watch way too much Netflix 


For this particular Mimosa Sunday we chose to make this fine dish.


  1. (in Mexican cooking) a dish of fried tortilla strips typically topped with a spicy tomato sauce and cheese.
    Here is the close up.
    Seriously, amazing.
    The mimosas were equally as delicious.
    Why, thank you dear Captain.
    For easy and refreshing Mimosas follow our recipe:
    -Orange Juice
    – 2 Strawberries
    – 2 Basil leaves
    -2 Lemon Wedges
    – Bit of lemon juice
    Begin by adding a small amount of fresh lemon juice into the bottom of the glass. Add in the champagne and orange juice the way you like. Add in a hulled and sliced strawberry, basil leaf, and garnish with a lemon wedge.
    The flavors and aroma of the lemon really take this simple drink up a notch!
    Now, I must go cover the crater my dog created after chasing a lizard.
    She is a crazed lizard killing machine.
     She is determined to get EVERY. LAST. ONE.
    I know, this blog post just took a weird turn.  But alas, this is life.
