I Speak ARMY as a second language.

English is my first language and the Army in my second. If I hadn’t caught on then this marriage would prove to be an interesting one to say the least . I often joke with my husband that our future children will be named in acronyms just to keep up with appearances.  (Between teaching and the Army what else is left?).

I remember when I first started dating my husband back in 2008 (a life time ago), he would quiz me… a lot.He thought it was funny and I thought it was kind of annoying  endearing. But I learned and I am all the more better for it.

– I now know what hook and loop fasteners are.

– I can tell you the difference between a Brigade and a Battalion.

-I can visually determine the rank of any officer and know the rank orders (I know, I am blowing you away with my awesomeness right now).

– When my husband says things like “S1, S3, S4, S6 shop”…I actually know what he is talking about.

So, in turn my husband has learned to speak food. Marriage is about compromise after all.

-He knows what a dehydrator is.

-He knows I need at least 5 different types of muffin tins, 10 different baking pans, and mixing bowls for days.

-He cherishes my love for all things gelato, and chocolate, and…. food.

-Most of all, he is my taste tester (life is so rough).

English is my first language. The Army is my second.

And food? Well, food is my love language.
