THROW BACK THURSDAY: Oatmeal Scotchies

Make these tasty homemade treats that grandma used to make!
  • 1 cup of Butter
  • 1½ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 3 cups Oatmeal
  • 1, 12 oz. Butterscotch Chips
  • ½ tsp. Orange Extract
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixer, combine softened butter and brown sugar. Mix until creamy.
  3. Add in the eggs and continue to mix.
  4. In a separate bowl, add flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and blend.
  6. Blend in the oatmeal.
  7. Fold in the orange extract and butterscotch chips.
  8. Using a tablespoon, spoon the dough onto a baking sheet. Keep them about 2" apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  10. Remove from oven and allow them to fully cool before eat (well eat at least one warm...)
